Rip Blu-ray Movies 3 Different Ways
April 13th, 2008 by Kevin
Update (7/1/2008): Slysoft has announced that until July 31, they are offering a 20% discount on all products, including AnyDVD HD. Check it out here.
So you want to rip your Blu-ray movies to a hard drive? Even with a ton of DRM, ripping Blu-ray movies is possible.
Here are three options for ripping Blu-ray movies:
- AnyDVD HD - This is the easiest way of ripping movies, and is the method of choice over at Avsforums. AnyDVD HD is almost a “must-have” piece of software for media center users. Slysoft is constantly updating AnyDVD HD to combat the ever changing digital rights management schemes that are implemented in Blu-ray disks. Not only does it help rip movies but it also helps you play movies from your Blu-ray drive if pesky DRM is causing issues.
- DVDFab HD Decryptor - This software copies entire DVD movie to hard disk, and removes all the protections (CSS, RC, RCE, APS, UOPs and Sony ARccOS) while copying. It also comes with full HD-DVD and Blu-Ray support (Removes AACS). It is not as well supported as AnyDVD HD.
- Running Linux on a PS3. This is a much more complicated way of ripping Blu-ray movies. Basically, you have to install Linux on your Playstation 3. Once you have Linux running, you can then rip the Blu-ray disc. This option is for the hardcore geek.
