I recently have become a big fan of NBC’s The Office. I got a good laugh yesterday when I got a prank call from Dwight Schrute, the over-zealous salesman at Dunder Mifflin. The call lasted about a minute while I was berated by Dwight for being late to work. At the end of the call, there was an ad for the Season 2 DVD of The Office. If find yourself bored at work, this is an entertaining way to pass some time at the expense of your co-workers.

To send a prank call to a friend, go over to the web site for Season Two of The Office, where you can ‘Get a Call from Dwight.’ Just pick from one of five messages, leave your phone number, and Dwight Schrute will call at some point and bitch you out for being late to work, ordering an inordinate amount of salmon-covered paper, or something bad on your resume. The calls run about a minute each and are pretty entertaining. At the end, he gives a code that will unlock a part of the website that shows deleted scenes from Season Two of the show. I had a great time having ‘Dwight’ call my co-workers and wife.

There are 5 different calls all together:

  1. Truancy – the call berates you for being late to work
  2. A big paper order- the call is trying to cofirm a large paper order
  3. Toilet paper
  4. Werewolf
  5. Resume – this one is good for friends or family who are currently looking for a job.

This is an interesting marketing ploy by NBC. Much of the show revolves around office pranks. The website is a quick way to join in on some fun, especially when you are bored at your own office waiting for your holiday vacation.
