VmcNetflix is a Vista Media Center plugin that allows you to sync with your Netflix account to stream movies to your media center. While the plugin has always been free, the developers have decided to make the software open source. Some of the features of the plugin include:

  1. Download WatchNow movies to a “Watch Later” gallery.
  2. Support for Vista Extenders on both x86 and x64 platforms.
  3. Support for NetFilx Instant Queue.
  4. Support for Episode listings.
  5. Search for movies by keyword.
  6. Browse DVD and WatchNow movies by genres
  7. Sort Gallery by Title, Year, or Star Rating.
  8. View your queue, history, and recommendations.
  9. Add, remove, move movies in your queue.
  10. Supports DVD/Movie Partental Controls

This continues a trend of plugins moving to open source, like the Open Media Library, which manages DVDs. Even though the plugin was free, the move to open source should be beneficial to everyone. With the source code being released, other developers will be free to contribute to the plugin.
