So you want to rip your Blu-ray movies to a hard drive? Even with a ton of DRM, ripping Blu-ray movies is possible.

Here are three options for ripping Blu-ray movies to a hard drive:

  1. AnyDVD HD - AnyDVD HD is almost a “must-have” piece of software for media center users and is the industry leader in ripping Blu-ray discs. Slysoft is constantly updating AnyDVD HD to combat the ever changing digital rights management schemes that are implemented in Blu-ray disks. Not only does it facilitate ripping movies by removing content protection but it also helps you play movies from your Blu-ray drive if pesky DRM is causing issues. AnyDVD HD will rip movies as an ISO image or as a folder. It also offers the option to remove the FBI warning and any other content on the disc that is not the movie. This is the overall best option and worth every penny.
  2. Download the trial version here.

  3. DVDFab HD Decryptor - This software copies entire DVD movie to hard disk, and removes all the protections (CSS, RC, RCE, APS, UOPs and Sony ARccOS) while copying. It also comes with full HD-DVD and Blu-Ray support (Removes AACS). It is not as well supported as AnyDVD HD.
  4. Running Linux on a PS3. This is a much more complicated way of ripping Blu-ray movies. Basically, you have to install Linux on your Playstation 3. Once you have Linux running, you can then rip the Blu-ray disc. This option is for the hardcore geek.
