EngadgetHD has an article on the impending release of new Blu-ray players by Samsung, the BD-P2400 and BD-P1400. It looks like Samsung is taking the next generation DVD formats seriously, with this announcement just on the heels of the dual format BDP-UP500.
The BD-P1400 in September for $549, and the BD-P2400 will be available in October for $649. These players are still somewhat expensive though they are a lot cheaper than a CableCard media center with a Blu-ray drive. This is the main problem with media centers. You can buy a Series 3 HD Tivo and a thrid generation Blu-Ray player for almost half the cost of a Vista Media Center computerthat has a digital tuner.
