enus_handslide-lores_product_sc101t.jpgNetgear has released the long anticipated Storage Central Turbo SC101T, which offers expandable network storage. Having enough storage to for all your digital media is an important part of any media center, especially with the demands of HD video. The SC101T can handle two SATA hard drives of just about any size.

From the Netgear website:

Simply insert one or two 3.5-inch SATA drives of any capacity from any vendor (sold separately) into Storage Central Turbo, connect it to any router or switch, and Smart Wizard takes care of the configuration. It functions just like a local disk drive, accessible from any network computer, but without requiring a dedicated PC. Advanced backup and synchronization software protects against data loss automatically with mirroring. And as your storage needs grow, Storage Central Turbo keeps pace by letting you upgrade with larger capacity SATA drives—and even additional Storage Central Turbo devices.

Some of the key features of the SC101T are:

  • Easy-to-use expandable network storage for sharing and safeguarding your valuable data
  • Add any capacity SATA drives (up to 2, sold separately)
  • High-performance gigabit Ethernet enables faster file storage and access
  • Disk-mirroring protects your data by automatically creating a backup

The suggested retail price is $199, not including the two hard drives needed.
